Fit
If you have narrow feet or a narrow heel with slightly wider forefoot, I think you will appreciate the fit of the Stephanie bootie. I am a true medium with wider forefoot due to bunions and found the fit to be a bit tight at first. After wearing a few hours, the gorgeous Italian suede started to conform to my foot bumps and I no longer would use the word “tight” to describe the fit, rather “secure” or “glove-like fit.”
Material
Johnston and Murphy coupon offers the best suede which is soft and forgiving of small bunions or hammertoes, but I would not recommend the Stephanie Stitched bootie for wide feet. I hope in the future that Johnston & Murphy Coupon would consider a wide width option for their most popular styles.
The footbed is cushioned with memory foam but it is not removable and with the close fit, I think it would be difficult to add an additional insole for support.
I am not sure what first drew me to this boot. The western-inspired design? The perfect height of the stacked rough hewn heel–not too high but not pancake flat? Or is it the rich cognac-hued suede? The stylish back zipper? A combination of all, I suppose. What I do know is that I look forward to wearing them this fall and building outfits around them.
I’ve seen this style of bootie commonly styled with skinny jeans but decided to pair them with this chevron-print North Face dress I’ve had for a year–since skinny jeans and I have a strong dislike for one another. I’m rather fond of the color combo of the warm cognac suede with the cooler teal and turquoise.
The Stephanie Stitched bootie only comes in medium widths, and as I mentioned previously, runs a tad narrow.
