The Counter Terrorism Police is inviting people to take a course and become so called CT citizens. They will be providing training to the citizens.
The training is in partnership with retail giant Marks & Spencer called ACT Awareness. It is made up of seven modules and takes 45 minutes to complete it. This course created by United Kingdom’s counter-terrorism officers and experts was previously only for the company staff working in crowded places such as shopping centers but as the threat level increases it has been declared for all the citizens.
The National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) said that the 29th November incident which left two people dead was a reminder of the current threat and the need for caution which is really important. But as per the police this move is not in response to the London bridge attack it is because the threat level remains at substantial which means an attack is likely so the police is giving everyone the chance to be extra eyes and ears for them and the local security teams.
This will definitely help to keep all communities safe. As this is a festive period which will obviously be a very busy one so this is a good time to join up and become a CT Citizen.
