Rugby is an amazingly popular sport much similar to American football although I see both as the same but apparently technically they are somewhat different. The craze for rugby is at the peak as there is a world rugby championship going on.
Japan is hosting the 2019 World Rugby Championship. The game is very popular in the western countries it is not as popular on the eastern side which is mostly occupied by cricket and football loving fans and audiences. Rugby’s popularity is without a doubt on the rise as the –sport goes global with localized tournaments and many world stage based ones too. The current situation says that New Zealand is on top of its game this year at the World Rugby Championship in Japan. The host team is not so good at the game but has been making some progress in it and has managed to stay in the game against some of the biggest names in the rugby world. a crazy evening in Shizuoka. Japan trailed Ireland, who less than a year ago beat the All Blacks, by nine points. And then they played them off the park. Japan switched directions on Ireland until they did not know which way to turn. They dummied a runner out the back and another runner short confusing the opponent and then hit the tighthead prop with a miss pass. Most of the Japan squad played some Super Rugby with the Sunwolves last season, but then they would be pulled out and brought into ‘the Wolfpack’, Brown’s training squad for the World Cup. And for months they did little but train.
It will be interesting to follow how the host fare in the championship as their championship-winning hopes are near to dying.
